Kathy Ostlund, MOPS Coordinator
Hello! I am Kathy, born and raised in Leelanau County, wife and mother of two rambunctious boys: Tommy (8, 2nd grade) and Winston (5, preschool). After being a work-at-home mom for three years, I just recently went back to work full-time as a Production Artist at Knorr Marketing in Traverse City. It is a new adventure for our family but I think it will be a good one at that! In addition to working full time and handling home life, I also hold a position on the Marketing Committee for Leelanau Christian Neighbors.
This will be my sixth year being fully involved in MOPS and I thank God everyday that I have found this great group of women that I can relate to, share stories of triumphs and hardships with and depend on when I might need a good laugh (we have many!) or a well deserved cry. There was a time when I felt like such a failure as a mom and that my misbehaving child was forever corrupt…when I finally opened up to my MOPS group, I found that I was not the only one in that boat…what a weight that had been lifted just knowing that I was not ALONE. I look forward to my Tuesday nights with my MOPS moms and I can’t wait to see some new faces in the crowd this year! This year I am taking on the role of MOPS Coordinator. I was nervous about taking on such a large role but as everything is coming so easily to me, it must be God’s will.
Natalie Korson, MOMSnext Co-Coordinator
I’m Natalie Korson, MOMSnext leader. I’ve been with Leland MOPS for 6 years now. I have 3 kids: Kyle (15), Kayla (13) and Alyssa (9). I’ve been married to Allen for 17 years. Where does the time go!
Melissa Hale, Financial Guru
Hello Everyone! I am the Publicity Leader again this year and I am excited to bring you the newsletter each month!
I have been married to Ben for 5 years and we have a 3 year old son, Charlie. We are expecting our second child this November!
When I am not busy chasing Charlie around, my interests include: rollerskating (roller derby!), candle-making, gardening, exploring the outdoors and playing my ukulele. I moved up to Leelanau County 4 years ago and I love it here! There is no other place I would want to raise my family.
Allissa Spinniken, Community Outreach & Childcare Coordinator
I am the wife of a handsome man, Aaron. We have two loud and busy boys, Malachai and Moses, and a sweet baby girl, Lydia.
I teach pilates at Yoga4 Studio in Lake Leelanau. I have been a part of MOPS for a little over 5 years and I am so very happy and feel very blessed to a wife and mother and care for my wonderful family in such an amazing county! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for this group of wonderful moms! I look forward to being Free Indeed together and learning to focus on Christ, because we reflect what we focus on.
